The street light project saw the adoption of the RELAMPING KIT, designed to optimally replace inefficient old sources in existing luminaires. IP67 relamping kit is suitable for any type of structure and allows traditional light fixture to be preserved by adapting them to modern LED technologies.

The ecosystem is based on the made-in-Italy LED modules of the LightMAX series and it is completed by selected and certified components from the main brands in the market.

The 2×6 power LED modules | R0344 provide powerful and uniform light, ideal for street lighting.

Hotel Azzorre - Lido di Jesolo (VE), Italy

Hotel Azzorre, located in Lido di Jesolo (VE), has recently transformed its lighting thanks to innovative LED solutions. The adoption of Elle Spotlights has allowed to enhance the spaces with an elegant and functional light.

The solution is based on 2×2 power LED modules | R0703, which offer powerful lighting ideal for creating a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere. 

 

Case Study: REDMADE - Hotel Azzorre

Gamlitz Castle - Styria, Austria

In collaboration with the architectural firm Cserni, a comprehensive lighting design was developed for various applications at Gamlitz Castle. KITEO’s lighting solutions were specifically tailored to meet the needs of an exclusive wedding venue, a fine-dining restaurant, a wine bar, and a retail space.

 

Innovative systems such as the K-Rondo pendant light, the Five wall light, and the Colump surface-mounted light were employed to achieve the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. The outdoor areas were also accentuated with atmospheric lighting by KITEO.

Mercedes-Benz Museum - Stuttgart, Germany

An innovative lighting solution featuring KITEO’s patented PI-LED technology was implemented at the Mercedes-Benz Museum, combining high-quality white light with RGB colors. Over 500 custom-made PI-LED modules in the floor and ceiling, along with bespoke mounting plates, enable emotional lighting scenes in the Mythos Room 1.

 

The K-Forum track spotlights in the casino on Level 8 provide flexible lighting adjustments for a wide range of events. Additionally, elevators and display cases were retrofitted with energy-efficient KITEO RE-FIT sets, achieving energy savings of approximately 70%.

100 Liverpool Street - London, UK

Stoane Lighting played a key role in the redevelopment of 100 Liverpool Street in London by crafting a stunning 14.5-meter-long chandelier, known as "The Cloud." Designed in collaboration with Speirs Major, this statement piece consists of 80 perforated aluminum panels with a polished interior and matte white exterior, creating a dynamic visual effect. Each section is individually powered and equipped with tunable LED spotlights for functional and ambient lighting.

Beyond the chandelier, Stoane Lighting also supplied bespoke pendants for the North lobby and custom linear fittings for the café. Their commitment to precision and innovation ensured that the lighting complemented the architectural elegance of the space.The project received multiple RIBA awards in 2022, recognizing its outstanding design and execution.

Mies van der Rohe Pavilion - Barcelona, Spain

Big Bang Building Light! by Mario Pasqualotto was presented within the framework of Llum Barcelona festival and in collaboration with Simon Electric and ProtoPixel, who have provided the system of control and design of light experience. A new view that joins the program of interventions in the Pavilion, which acts as a way to maintain active interpretations and make sense of the news of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion.

The intervention proposes highlighting with lines and points of light the main architectural elements generating the diaphanous spaces and walls of the Pavilion, as well as the accelerated design and construction process. It also intends to provide dynamism through various sequences of lighting.

‘t Handelshuys - Uden, Netherlands

The ’t Handelshuys project in Uden, Netherlands, showcases the power of Casambi’s wireless lighting control in a creative co-working space. Designed for flexibility, energy efficiency, and user-friendly operation, this smart lighting system enhances both functionality and ambiance.

Forum Groningen - Groningen, Netherlands

The Forum Groningen, a striking 10-story public building in the Netherlands, features over 1,000 Tunable White luminaires, powered by eldoLED’s DUALdrive drivers. Supporting the DALI DT8 standard, these fixtures provide flicker-free dimming down to 0.1%, ensuring seamless light quality and energy efficiency.

With LightShape technology, the lighting dynamically shifts between 2500K and 4000K, adapting to the time of day for optimal ambiance and visual comfort. Lighting Artworks Lumens - Amsterdam, Netherlands

Lumens is a captivating light installation by Dutch visual artist Henk Stallinga, featuring a constellation of subtly curved light mobiles. Positioned throughout the space, these mobiles respond to touch—when gently pushed, they set the entire floating firmament into a rhythmic, wave-like motion.

 

Designed to capture the full spectrum of daylight, the mobiles display an evolving daylight film, reflecting endless variations of color and intensity. As they move with the natural air currents, visitors experience an immersive interplay of light, motion, and emotion, highlighting the profound impact of daylight on mood.

 

Presented by Gerhard Hofland Gallery, Lumens is on view at Projectspace on the Inside from May 2nd to July 2nd, 2016, Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 17:00 (or by appointment).

IVF Clinic - Barcelona, Spain

This innovative lighting project, powered by ProtoPixel’s smart lighting technology, recreates natural environmental conditions within hospitality spaces. By dynamically adjusting color temperature, intensity, and rhythm, the lighting system enhances guest comfort and well-being, simulating the natural transitions of daylight.

Torre Glòries - Barcelona, Spain

The Glòries Tower, a 38-story skyscraper in Barcelona’s Poblenou district, serves as a gateway to the city’s emerging technology hub. As part of a collection of cutting-edge architectural landmarks, its standout feature is the dynamic lighting system, consisting of 4,000 LED devices that create vivid, luminous displays on its facade.

The system is capable of creating 16 million colors and generate images on the outside of the Tower thanks to the ProtoPixel technology.

SolarWind - Paris, France

SolarWind is a monumental lighting artwork that illuminates two of Calcia’s concrete silos, located at the border of Paris and Ivry. Designed by Laurent Grasso, this stunning installation is visible to over one million French motorists daily. Inaugurated on January 25th, SolarWind is set to remain in operation for over a decade.

The concept behind SolarWind is inspired by space meteorology. To achieve this, data is gathered by the CNES Space Observatory laboratories, which is then processed into an algorithm that generates unique animations. These dynamic visuals are projected onto the silos daily, creating a one-of-a-kind display. A Wi-Fi DMX interface is used to translate this data for the fixtures, ensuring accurate projection onto the silos.

SolarWind poses a significant technological challenge due to the scale of the project. The silos, each measuring 20 meters in diameter and 30 meters in height, require sophisticated lighting techniques to bring the artwork to life.

Venezuela's Pavilion facade - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

ProtoPixel's lighting control system for Venezuela's Pavilion at World Expo 2020 Dubai transformed the façade into a dynamic visual experience. Designed by architect Wanders Werner Falasi and inspired by the work of Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, the façade uses slats arranged in a waveform. With ProtoPixel's all-in-one platform, the lighting creates captivating linear effects across all four sides of the pavilion.

Leveraging ProtoPixel’s advanced technology, including the Node control device and the Spaces management app, the installation offers seamless control. It allows for synchronized lighting moods and effects, enhancing the overall aesthetic experience.

This lighting project not only showcases cutting-edge technology but also pays homage to Cruz-Diez’s contributions to kinetic and optical art. The lighting system efficiently manages the project’s large scale, making it a standout feature at one of the world’s most prestigious events.

New Balance - Barcelona, Spain

ProtoPixel was the technology partner behind the immersive lighting experience for New Balance's FuelCell collection launch. Located in Barcelona, this interactive space used LED bars connected to an app, allowing visitors to "power up" by running. Every stride was visually displayed, creating an exciting, competitive atmosphere that highlighted the brand's innovative approach to both fitness and retail.

The lighting installation provided a unique, engaging experience, aligning with New Balance's focus on performance and technology. By integrating ProtoPixel's advanced lighting control platform, the event captured the essence of the FuelCell collection.

This dynamic and eye-catching launch featured a blend of cutting-edge design and immersive interaction, making it a memorable event for all participants.

Diagonal Mar - Barcelona, Spain

ProtoPixel's dynamic lighting technology transforms large retail spaces, such as the Diagonal Mar shopping center in Barcelona. Since November 2018, the mall has utilized ProtoPixel’s system to create interactive and adaptable lighting environments, engaging shoppers with audiovisual shows and responsive lighting that adjusts to different times of the day. This approach optimizes energy usage while enhancing the customer experience.

ProtoPixel’s innovative solutions allow each pixel on the ceiling and throughout the halls to be controlled, providing customized lighting for various retail zones. This makes it possible to highlight specific areas or create immersive experiences for visitors.

The collaboration with Avant LED and BMLD for lighting design has resulted in a truly modern retail environment, making Diagonal Mar a standout example of how dynamic lighting can elevate customer engagement and optimize energy costs.

MESH Club - Johannesburg, South Africa

Soraa’s advanced LED lighting technology has transformed the ambiance of the MESH Club in Johannesburg, a curated members' club designed for collaboration and networking. With a focus on dynamic lighting, Soraa’s GaN on GaN™ LED lamps provide superior color rendering and beam control, enhancing the space’s aesthetics and functionality.

The lighting design, executed by SMITH.TAIT, integrates Soraa’s GU10 lamps with SNAP filters and a DALI control system, enabling flexible illumination for various activities. This adaptive lighting supports productivity and social interaction while accentuating the club’s sophisticated interior.

By utilizing Soraa’s high-CRI LED technology, the MESH Club achieves a balance between style and efficiency. The lighting highlights textures, enhances artwork, and ensures a visually engaging environment that adapts to changing needs.

Tobias Grau Flagship Store - Frankfurt, Germany

A Casambi lighting control system was installed in the flagship store of the luminaire brand Tobias Grau in Frankfurt, Germany.

A system was needed that could control over 100 lightpoints in separate groups as individually, depending on the customers needs. Casambi was a natural choice thanks to the Casambi system's easy and quick installation and flexibility when it comes to remodelling the store and updating the products at display.

The shop personnel were in the need of a system that they could easily use via smartphones and tablets with a trustworthy wireless network functionality. The Casambi-app has served the purpose so well that also the clients of Tobias Grau want to add the control option to their installations.

Sedus Smart Office - Dogern, Germany

Based in Dogern, Germany, Sedus Stoll AG is a leading supplier of office equipment and workplace concepts. In naturally lit spaces, artificial light control is essential.

As daylight shifts, so does the artificial lighting—continuously adjusting intensity and color temperature. This subtle, unsynchronized movement of luminaires every 8 minutes enhances well-being, mimicking natural light perception. Adjustable workstations allow for personalized lighting.

RGBW and Tunable White luminaires create varied atmospheres, inspired by natural phenomena and Fibonacci sequences. The project supports the circadian rhythm, aligning with research on dynamic office lighting and the 2017 Nobel Prize in Medicine.

Casambi enabled easy programming of rooms, daily and seasonal lighting changes, and cost-efficient wireless control—saving time and installation expenses.

Studio House - Wörthersee, Austria

Surrounded by nature, situated directly at the Wörthsee lake in Austria, this studio house communicates a feeling of seclusion and peace and an intensive dialog between architecture and nature. Large windows enable a direct experience of the landscape - of the lake and the woods. The owner constructed the place firstly to create a space for working undisturbed and secondly to provide a private, inspirational atmosphere for talks with business partners.

The whole studio house is controlled by Occhio air, Occhio's Bluetooth low energy based control system with an own Occhio Air app -a system made by Casambi. With Occhio air, Occhio expands its already technological portfolio to include a new dimension of operation. Besides scenes, animations and timers in the Occhio Air app, the studio house can also be controlled by Occhio's version of the Xpress wireless wall switch called Occhio Air Controller.

Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice - Glasgow, Scotland

The lighting design for The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice was inspired by their vision to advance 21st-century palliative care in Glasgow, expanding services to include 16-year-old patients and their families. The hospice is the first in the UK to adopt the Sengetun model of care, emphasizing "placemaking" and a Scandinavian design that prioritizes privacy, dignity, and compassionate care for all ages.

Research shows that the aesthetic design of healthcare facilities significantly impacts patient wellbeing. The goal was to create a home-like environment where clinical care is unobtrusive. Atelier Ten recognized the importance of thoughtful lighting in enhancing mood and space aesthetics, implementing a circadian lighting system that mirrors natural daylight cycles, proven to improve patient wellbeing.

Due to budget constraints, Atelier Ten proposed the cost-effective Casambi wireless solution, which met all functional requirements. Casambi technology controls every light fitting throughout the building.

Facade Lighting - Heumarkt 7 - Vienna, Austria

In 1826 the „Seilerhaus“ was built opposite the Stadtpark, at the edge of the city center of Vienna. Today it counts among the protected architectural heritage. While renovating the building the decision was taken to furnish the facade with a representative illumination.

Four different kinds of LED-sources were employed to generate lighting that does justice to this precious Biedermeier facade. To adjust the illuminance to the ideal levels, the Schrutek company employed four CASAMBI ASD with signal boosters to control 22 Dali- and 10 1-10V – drivers. The fine tuning of the levels was effortlessly done from across the street, at a distance of about 25 meters with the CASAMBI smartphone-app.

Villeroy & Boch exhibits - Festhalle, Frankfurt

In March 2017, Villeroy & Boch exhibited at ISH 2017 in Frankfurt, the world’s leading trade fair for bath, building, energy, and climate technology. The stand was located in the prestigious Festhalle. The goal was to control each spotlight individually, ensuring the right light level to minimize glare and reflections on porcelain. Casambi was chosen for its flexibility, ease of use, and wireless functionality.

The stand featured 280 Casambi modules, divided into three networks. Commissioning and adjustments took just 2.5 hours, even by users with no prior Casambi app experience. Pre-naming networks and luminaires in the factory contributed to the fast setup. Solution partner Hoyer successfully integrated the technology and provided additional in-house commissioning.

Royal Academy of Arts - London, UK

The Main Galleries in the Royal Academy of Arts’s Burlington House host world-class exhibitions, including Ai Weiwei and The Real Van Gogh.

Until recently, the galleries were lit by 3,000+ halogen fittings with basic dimming. Partnering with Arup, the RA sought a more efficient, long-lasting solution with flexible controls. After multiple mock-ups, iGuzzini’s Palco LED spotlights, eldoLED drivers, and Casambi controls were chosen for superior color temperature, optics, and dimming.

Casambi’s system eliminates the need for manual adjustments—lights are controlled via app, dimmable to 0.1%, and programmable with scenes and timers. Integrated Bluetooth modules keep fittings sleek and simplify maintenance.

Casambi also modernized workshop spaces, giving facilitators easy scene control. RA’s Claire Sadler calls it a “huge improvement,” as curators can now adjust lighting instantly instead of waiting for overnight changes.

Combo Hostels - Turin, Italy

Combo Hostel in Turin combines modern design with historical charm. Originally built as a fire station, the building has been completely renovated and now serves as a vibrant meeting place with accommodation, dining, and event spaces. The lighting had to be versatile to meet the diverse requirements of these areas.

 

The design includes warm 2700K luminaires for a cozy atmosphere and RGBW lighting that provides neutral white light during the day and dynamic color options in the evening. This creates the perfect ambiance for different occasions—whether lively parties, intimate dinners, art exhibitions, or book presentations.

 

 

For easy and intuitive control, the Casambi lighting management system ensures maximum flexibility. It allows operators to seamlessly adapt the lighting to their specific needs without technical limitations. Thanks to Casambi, a dynamic and customized lighting concept has been implemented across all Combo Hostels.
